We have a lot of students in our school and so we are always looking for volunteers to help with school events.  

A little help goes a long way!

Applicants should be Harbour Landing students in the 2025/26 school year.  Applicants must have their St. John Ambulance certification in babysitting.

What is the Harbour Landing SCC?

A School Community Council (SCC) is a committee of parents and community members, joined by the principal and teachers from the school, who actively work together to support and enhance the education of the students by advancing the School’s Strategic Plan.

Did you know?

Every school in the province has a SCC.

School Community Council Responsibilities

The following is an example of some of the responsibilities of the SCC

• Facilitate parent and community participation

• Communicate with parents, guardians and community members

about its plans, initiatives and accomplishments;

• Comply with the policies and procedures of the School Division

• Account publicly for the expenditure of funds

• Maintain an approved constitution

• Plan special events and information sessions at their school

• Recruit and organize school volunteers

• Discuss education-related and school-specific issues both for the current year and

for the future of the school and School Division

• Fundraising activities

• Identify SCC representatives to attend/participate in

division-wide activities

• Recruit experts to make presentations of interest and

educational value to the school community

• Create opportunities for parents and guardians and community members to

become involved in the activities and life of the school
